2014-15
Kurtz started all 25 games he appeared in this season, averaging 21.6 minutes and 7.4 points. He shot 41.8% from the floor and 36.9% from three point range and averaged 3.4 rebounds per game. Kurtz scored in double-figures six times this year with a season-high 16 points against Colorado College on January 9th.
2013-14
Kurtz played in 18 games for the Pirates, averaging 3.5 points and 1.4 rebounds in 11.8 minutes per game, missing part of the season due to injury. He shot 34% from the floor and 29% from three point range and 72 percent from the free throw line. Kurtz had a season-high 15 points and eight rebounds against Austin College on February 27th. He was a member of the SCAC Academic Honor Roll and NABC Honors Court.
2012-13
Kurtz played in 26 games this season while starting 18 times and averaging 24.2 minutes per game. He was second on the team in scoring, averaging 8.5 points per game while shooting 34.4% from the floor and 82.1% from the free throw line. Kurtz also pulled down 3.5 rebounds per game while recording 27 assists, 10 blocks and 19 steals. He scored a season high 26 points on December 17th against SUNYIT, shooting 60% from three point range. Kurtz was a member of the SCAC Academic Honor Roll.
2011-12 (First-year)
Kurtz made an impact in his first season with the Pirates; he played in all 25 contests, starting 20 of those games. He was fourth in minutes per game (21.9) and he was sixth in total points scored with 128. Kurtz was tied for first in free throw percentage, he shot 85.7% going 36-42 from the line. Travis was third on the team in total rebounds with 74 and fourth for the Pirates in steals with 22. He was a member of the SCAC Academic Honor Roll and Dean's List.
High School
Travis earned three varsity letters in basketball and four in track and field while competing for the Storm. Travis was an All-Whatcom County selection in basketball, was a participant in State Track and Field his senior year, and was a member of two state championship basketball teams and one state runner up.
Personal
Travis is the son of Kevin and Jennifer and has one sister, Lauren. Travis is a business major with a minor in Spanish at SU and is a member of the dean's list and FCA.
