GEORGETOWN, TEXAS – Southwestern University Women's Cross Country opened the 2026 season with a first-place finish in the 5K Stormy Seas Opener Saturday morning on the campus of Southwestern.
 
The Pirates, led by Addison Jackson (1^st, 19:25.61), finished with 53 total points as SU had five runners finish in the top 20 out of the 52-runner field. Running in her first collegiate race, freshman Isabel Lima registered a fifth-place finish with a time of 20:37.95.
 
Emma Adams logged an 11^th place finish after clocking a 21:05.00, while Sarah Rothe (16^th, 21:53.92) landed inside the top 20. Lucy Wallace claimed a 20^th place after recording a 22:23.56.
 
Irene Ramirez (23^rd, 22:39.32) and Lily Russell (31^st, 23:43.22) rounded out SU's lineup.
