5/10/2026 9:10:00 PM

SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS - Southwestern University Men's Track & Field brought their highest level athletes to the Trinity University Last Chance Invitational on Sunday for a final opportunity to earn personal records or put themselves in position to compete in nationals.

Junior Lukas Nowlin and freshman Jalen White highlighted the afternoon as both shattered major program records. Nowlin accomplished a massive milestone by capturing the High Jump school record with a jump of 2.10 meters. Nowlin became the SAA Indoor and Outdoor champion recently with a distance of 2.01 meters, but still looked to improve for his NCAA Outdoor national ranking.

The monumental improvement of 0.09 meters currently ranks sixth in the nation as of Sunday night, which would currently put him into the field for his second chance to chase the national title this season after placing fifth in the Indoor division. Nowlin also has a chance to qualify in the Long Jump event, sitting at 21st in the nation as only 21 athletes qualify as the participants will be announced on May 15th.

White had his best weekend in the 110-Meter Hurdles after placing sixth in the SAA Championships as a freshman. White finished with a time of 14.92, surpassing a school record that stood since 2012. The time will not quite qualify for nationals, but White will remain be a contender for years to come as the future is extremely bright for the Dallas native.
