GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - Southwestern University Track & Field junior
Lukas Nowlin was named West Region Field Athlete of the Year by USTFCCCA on Thursday. Nowlin becomes the first Pirate ever named Region Athlete of the Year.
Among the 10 regions in NCAA DIII sports, Nowlin represented the West after earning All-American in the High Jump in both the Indoor (5th) and the Outdoor (2nd) season. The Baytown native made history in 2026 as the first Men's Track & Field athlete to become an All-American, along with setting school history earning the best individual national finish by any Pirate in the DIII era.
Nowlin also garnered both SAA conference titles in the High Jump, two All-Region nods, and one SAA Jumps Athlete of the Year award. Congrats to Nowlin as the most decorated athlete in program history with one more year still to compete, along with the Pirate coaching staff.
