GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - Southwestern University Baseball swatted three home runs in the series finale on Saturday, but failed to keep the Tigers offense held down in a losing effort, 13-8. The Pirates have just nine SAA games left, needing to turn the tides to qualify for the SAA Tournament.
Freshman
Ben Roska received the start, recording three strikeouts as the Pirates led 1-0 after two innings. Fellow freshman
Alex Ervesun went deep on an opposite field shot. Trinity manufactured four runs in the next two innings before sophomore
Chase Adams went deep in the third. With two outs, junior
Owen Stevenson delivered a clutch RBI single on the Tigers sidearm reliever.
Sophomore
Brandon Lang had another strong weekend, tying the game at six with an RBI single in the fifth. Trinity found timely extra base hits to take a four run lead. Lang brought the Pirates back with a missile home run to right center field, which cut the deficit to two runs after seven innings. The Tigers star left-handed reliever entered the game and tossed 4.2 innings, allowing only two runs to finish the game.
