GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - Southwestern University Baseball struggled on Tuesday night against Texas Lutheran University who have received national ranking votes, 12-2. The Pirates officially conclude their non-conference season with their final midweek battle. The Pirates have only nine SAA conference games to play.

Connor Duffey smoked a single to score two runs in the third inning, but the Pirates found themselves down 9-2. Duffey totaled his 40th hit of the season, tied with sophomore
Chase Adams for the most on the team.
The Pirates were uncharacteristically quiet offensively with only two hits. Texas Lutheran extended their lead to ten in the seventh to secure a seven-inning run rule winner. Senior
Max Pougnet was the lone Pirate pitcher without a run surrendered in their inning who has now gone three straight innings of relief without an earned run. TLU totaled a run in the seventh off sophomore
Payne Lochridge, but it was unearned.
