Southwestern Stumbles in SAA Series Against Trinity

GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - The Southwestern University softball team battled through a tough SAA doubleheader against Trinity University on Friday at Taylor-Sanders Field. The Pirates fell 8-3 in game one and 9-4 in game two, dropping the conference series and moving to 5-6 in SAA play.

GAME 1 – Trinity 8, Southwestern 3

Southwestern showed resilience throughout the opener, answering multiple Trinity rallies and continuing to battle at the plate. After the Tigers opened the game with a solo home run in the first inning, the Pirates responded in the second when Logan Kieselhorst delivered an RBI single to bring in Kaydence Garza and even the score at 1-1.

The Pirates continued to respond under pressure in the fourth inning. Trailing 6-1, Southwestern strung together productive at-bats as Calle Collier and Macey Gilman each drove in runs with RBI singles, trimming the deficit to 6-3 and keeping momentum within reach.
