GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - Southwestern University Baseball struggled against a dynamic Berry College squad in a doubleheader sweep on Saturday. The Pirates lost game one 21-5, while dropping game two 15-0.Â
GAME 1
Junior
Cale Cochran tallied the first RBI of the game before the Viking scored unanswered runs on freshman

Alex Ervesun cut the deficit in half with a three-run homerun as the Pirates trailed 8-4. The Vikings scored 13 runs in the final three innings to snatch game one.Â
Senior
Connor Duffey, junior
Owen Stevenson, and Cochran all finished with multi-hit performances.Â
GAME 2
The Pirates made a crucial error in the first, followed by walks that caused the Pirates starter to exit in the first with a four-run deficit. Berry proceeded to rattle off 15 runs against the Pirates on 11 hits. Two relievers pitched well in junior
Lawrence Lara and senior
Max Pougnet. Lara tossed his first two innings of the year with zero earned runs. Pougnet came into the game and struck out two for two scoreless innings.Â
Stevenson was the lone Pirate with multiple hits, going 3 for 3. The junior has had multiple hits in eight of his last ten games.Â
