Garrett Guinn tossed his best appearance of the year out of the pen with 5.2 innings of relief, before exiting in the ninth after a few hits as the Pirates lost their 8-7 lead.
Southwestern and Wooster entered with reversed records as the Fighting Scots sat at an impressive 12-4 record. The first inning was action filled as freshman
Alex Ervesun smoked an RBI single, before reigning SAA Athlete of the Week, junior
Owen Stevenson, smashed a back side single to score two runs. Sophomore
Brandon Lang got the start behind the dish with a career-high four hits on the day. Lang smoked a double in the fourth to score sophomore
Chase Adams. However, Southwestern faced a 7-4 deficit after an error and timely Wooster hitting.

Tres Organ, and Lang totaled RBI's as the Pirates took an 8-7 lead into the final frame. Heading into the ninth, Guinn pitched 5.2 innings with only one earned run. Guinn surrendered two singles and a double before handing the ball off to freshman
Cam Fucik who retired the final three hitters as the Pirates found themselves down 10-8. The Pirates were retired in order as the Scots escaped with the victory.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- Lang is now healthy and looking like a pivotal offensive piece for the Pirates, going 4-5 with two RBI's.
- Duffey added a 3-4 game with a walk. The senior is batting .418 this year.
- Organ, Ervesun, and Stevenson also totaled multi-hit games in the effort.
