Pirates Surge Past Ozarks, Improve to 7–2

GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - The Southwestern University men's tennis team earned a strong home victory on Saturday afternoon at Henderson Courts, defeating former SCAC foe the University of the Ozarks to improve to 7–2 on the season.

The Pirates dropped the opening two doubles matches but avoided the sweep with a dominant performance at the No. 3 position. Dakota Gibson and Parth Patel delivered a quick 6–0 win over Archie Martyn-Smith and Haru Satomura to put Southwestern on the board heading into singles play.

Ozarks secured the doubles point with wins at the top two courts. At No. 1 doubles, Kento Iwahara and Perry Guidry defeated Joseph Snyman and Christo Langford 6–4. Sergio Munoz and Zachary Hanson followed with a 6–4 victory over Bernie Clemente and Sebastian Herrera at No. 2.

Southwestern responded emphatically in singles competition, sweeping all six courts to secure the team victory.

At the top of the lineup, Bernie Clemente set the tone with a dominant 6–2, 6–0 win over Haru Satomura. Ashton Ellis followed with a commanding 6–0, 6–1 victory against Kento Iwahara at No. 2 singles.

Nolan Alvarez continued the Pirates' momentum with a 6–2, 6–1 win over Sergio Munoz at the No. 3 spot. The most competitive match of the afternoon came at No. 4 singles, where Hai Vo battled past Zachary Hanson. Vo claimed the first set 6–4, dropped the second 2–4, and sealed the match in a 10–4 match tiebreak.

Southwestern closed out the sweep with two more convincing performances. Rylan Hastings earned a 6–2, 6–4 win over Perry Guidry at No. 5, while Ezra Suez finished the day with a 6–1, 6–3 victory against Ryan Rosalin at No. 6.
