Pirates Control Every Court in Friday Night Sweep

GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - The Southwestern University men's tennis team continued its dominant start to the spring season Friday evening, sweeping Concordia University Texas 7–0 at home to remain undefeated at 4–0 overall.

The Pirates set the tone early by securing the doubles point with wins on courts one and two. Bernie Clemente and Parth Patel delivered a decisive 6–1 victory at No. 1 doubles over Daniel Beckles and Diego Garcia, while Joseph Snyman and Porter Arens followed with a 6–2 win at No. 2 doubles against Kade Talbot and Aaron Griffin. Concordia claimed the No. 3 doubles match, but Southwestern's pair of victories gave the Pirates a 1–0 lead heading into singles play.

Southwestern carried that momentum into singles competition, sweeping all six courts in commanding fashion.

At No. 1 singles, Nathan Qi battled through a competitive opening set before earning the win by opponent retirement after taking the first set 7–6. Ashton Ellis added another point at No. 2 singles with a straight-set victory, defeating Daniel Beckles 6–4, 6–3.

One of the night's most thrilling matches came at No. 3 singles, where Porter Arens outlasted Aaron Griffin in a tightly contested three-set battle. After dropping the opening set, Arens rallied to win 4–6, 6–4, 14–12 in an extended deciding-set tiebreaker.

Parth Patel dominated at No. 4 singles with a 6–2, 6–0 victory over Kade Talbot, while Bernie Clemente secured a 6–4, 6–1 win against Diego Garcia at No. 5 singles. Arian Patel closed out the sweep at No. 6 singles, defeating Rowan Daniell 6–2, 6–3.

With the 7–0 result, the Pirates improve to a perfect 4–0 on the season, continuing an impressive early stretch highlighted by depth across both doubles and singles lineups.
