GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - Southwestern University softball swept its Friday doubleheader against the Willamette Bearcats at Taylor-Sanders Field, claiming a 6–3 victory in game one before walking off game two, 5–4, in eight innings. The Pirates used timely hitting and strong pitching throughout the evening, overcoming early deficits and late pressure to secure the home sweep.
GAME 1 – Southwestern 6, Willamette 3
Willamette struck first in the second inning with a solo home run followed by an RBI double to take a 2–0 lead, but Southwestern quickly responded in the bottom of the third. Daniella Clark singled up the middle to score Kaydence Garza before Sophia Ytuarte delivered a two-RBI double to left center, giving the Pirates a 3–2 advantage.
Southwestern added insurance in the fourth inning as Calle Collier doubled up the middle to drive in two runs. Clark followed with another RBI single later in the frame, extending the Pirate lead to 6–2.
Willamette pushed across a run in the seventh inning, but Ytuarte shut the door to secure the complete-game victory.

GAME 2 – Southwestern 5, Willamette 4 (8 Innings)
The Pirates jumped ahead early in game two when Collier cleared the bases with a three-RBI double down the left-field line in the second inning, giving Southwestern a 3–0 lead.
Willamette chipped away with a run in the fifth before tying the game with two runs in the seventh inning. The Bearcats briefly moved ahead 4–3 in the top of the eighth, setting up late-game drama for the Pirates.
Southwestern answered immediately in the bottom half as Tauryn Alexander reached on an error that allowed Logan Kieselhorst to score the tying run. Moments later, Emery Bell delivered a walk-off RBI single to right field, scoring Jaydan Ewart and sealing the 5–4 victory.
