Women’s Basketball Drops SAA Opener to Trinity

GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - The Southwestern University women's basketball team dropped its first Southern Athletic Association (SAA) contest of the season on Saturday evening, falling to Trinity University by a final score of 91–66. Southwestern competed early, trailing just 19–14 after the opening quarter before Trinity matched that output again in the second to take a 38–28 advantage at halftime. The Pirates continued to fight coming out of the break, scoring 16 points in the third, but Trinity used a decisive 35-point period to create separation. Southwestern closed the night on a positive note, outscoring the Tigers 22–18 in the fourth quarter, though the deficit proved too large to erase.
