GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - Southwestern University Men's Basketball climbed out of a 27-point hole to pull within four points late, but failed to overcome the deficit in a loss at Millsaps College on Friday night, 83-73.
The Pirates struggled to find any momentum 25 minutes into the game before mounting a 38-15 run to pull within four points with two minutes to play. However, Southwestern could not pull off another miraculous comeback on the road.

Shobby Enakpene and sophomore
Aedan Lewis were fantastic, combining for 51 points on 20-33 from the field. Enakpene finished with a career-high 27 points, scoring from all levels. Lewis continued his tear with a double-double on 24 points and 11 rebounds. Tonight marked his first double-double with a career-high 11 boards.

- The Pirates started senior Luke Hatcher, junior Zach Gomez, freshman Kalen Williamson, Lewis, and Enakpene. The freshman made his first start tonight.
- The Majors started in a zone as the Pirates struggled to execute open shots early, down 19-8 with 12 minutes to go.
- Lewis ended the offensive drought with a tough transition take, cutting the deficit in half at 30-15.
- The Pirates struggled beyond the arc, going 1-14 in the half as the Majors took a 46-23 lead into the break.
- Lewis and Enakpene combined for 19 of the 23 points.
- Southwestern rallied on a 10-0 run, down 18 points with 12 minutes remaining
- Lewis used his length to create back-to-back turnovers and buckets in transition. The Pirates ramped up the full-court pressure and trailed 65-54.
- Freshman Neo Franco knocked down a three as the Pirates bench erupted with momentum down eight.
- Junior Luke Mills drew a pivotal charge. Next, senior Sebastian Loder caught a dime from Franco, narrowing the deficit to six with seven minutes remaining.
- The Pirates went into the final under four timeout, down 71-63 after a 25-9 run since the 12 minute mark.
- Enakpene was on fire all second half scoring his 27th point to cut it to 73-67.
- Lewis made it 73-69 with under two minutes to play. However, Southwestern failed to execute in the final 90 seconds, dropping the road contest 83-73.
GAME NOTES
- For the third straight game, Southwestern dug out of massive second half holes. Tonight proved to be the steepest down 27 with 15 minutes to play.
- The Pirates scored 42 points in the final 15 minutes, totaling only 31 in the first 25.
- Lewis earned his first start in the final non-conference game of the season and has relished the opportunities since.
- The sophomore has averaged 22 points and eight rebounds in his last three games.
- Enakpene surpassed his career-high by one point with 27.
- Loder kept possessions alive with six boards tonight, while Hatcher led the team with six assists for a career-high.
- Southwestern struggled beyond the arc, going 6-34 and 7-17 from the line.
- The squad was hungry on the offensive glass with a season-high 22 offensive boards.
