GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - The Southwestern University Volleyball sophomore defense specialist Izzy Rodriguez was named SAA Defensive Athlete of the Week for her performances over the weekend at the Puget Sound Invitational. Rodriguez had a stellar weekend tallying seventy-two digs (5.5 digs per set), fifteen assists, and four service aces helping the Pirates beat University of Puget Sound and Gustavus Adolphus Colleges who are both receiving votes in the polls. Within the three matches played Rodriguez posted twenty plus digs for every match, which included a game-high of twenty-seven! This is Rodriguez's first time in her career to win these honors!
