MSOC Records Third Straight Clean Sheet In Win Over Texas Lutheran

GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - Southwestern University Men's Soccer refused to give Texas Lutheran University any chances on Sunday afternoon, recording a third straight shutout. The Pirates escaped with the 1-0 victory, improving their record to 5-0-1 on the season. 

MATCH HIGHLIGHTS
  • The Pirates dominated possession and opportunities in the first half as senior Raghav Sharma put two headers on goal. 
  • In the 42nd minute, Southwestern broke through with the second unit. Sophomore Hank Melton swung it out to freshman Justus Mason who sent a perfect cross to freshman Anthony Peacher. The freshman headed it through the net for his first career goal. 
  • The assist by Mason marked his first point as a Pirate. 
  • Southwestern created 12 shots in the first half opposed to Texas Lutheran's two. 
  • The Bulldogs created a critical chance as a set piece went through senior Scott Johnson's hands, but junior Cooper Pero was there to clear it. 
  • Despite the miscue, Johnson helped secure the win for his fourth shutout of the season with seven saves. The senior finished the week with 18 saves in two matches.
