WSOC Posts Third Straight Clean Sheet in 0-0 Draw against McMurry

GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - Southwestern University Women's Soccer were stout defensively again, ultimately playing McMurry University to 0-0 draw on Friday night. The Pirates returned back home after three games on the road. 

Southwestern continues to deny any legitimate close range opportunities at the net this season. The match marked their straight clean sheet as a squad. Moreover, Southwestern has surrendered just three goals in five matches.  

MATCH HIGHLIGHTS 
  • The Pirates ripped six shots in the first half, while freshman goalie EJ Searfoss corralled six of her own as the Warhawks threatened multiple times. 
  • The six saves marked a career-high in only one match of play in her third start of the season. 
  • Sophomore Lindsey Gomez searched for her second goal of the season after her game winner last weekend. Gomez fired two shots on goal in the last ten minutes before the game concluded. 
  • The Warhawks finished with 17 shots on the night. Searfoss saved ten of those shots, resulting in her first career double-digit save night with three straight clean sheets in her three starts.
