Box Score GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - Southwestern University overcame adversity on Monday night with a victory over Concordia University, 2-1. The Tornados struck first in the sixth minute, but Southwestern bounced back with two goals on 17 shots for the night.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- After dropping the first match of the season to University of Puget Sound last Friday night, Southwestern looked to start strong. However, Concordia found the back of the net in the sixth minute despite the Pirates dominating possession.
- The Pirates knocked on the door multiple times before sophomore Kacey Ehlen smashed one in the top corner from right outside of the box. Senior Devin Cybulski helped create the opportunity with the assist.
- Sophomore Mia Reyna was aggressive in the second half, scoring the match deciding goal.
GAME NOTES
- Southwestern dominated possession and the opportunities with seven shots on goal, while only allowing two.
- Junior Erin York and freshman EJ Searfoss split time between the pipes.
- Junior Jackie Powell continues to create havoc up top with three shots on the night.

Southwestern hits the road next weekend to take on Belhaven University (Miss.) in a neutral venue match on Friday (7:30 p.m.) and East Texas Baptist University on Sunday (3:30 p.m.). Both matches will takes place in Marshall, Texas.
