GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - Southwestern Men's Soccer capped off the undefeated weekend, taking down a strong Claremont-Mudd-Spriggs Colleges squad on home soil Sunday night, 2-1. The gritty win comes against the 17th ranked team in the nation who made it to the NCAA DIII Round of 16 last season.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- Sophomore Quinn MacLeod got the Pirates off and running in the 18th minute, finishing his first career goal on the double assist from senior Greyson Pinto and junior Nico Colegrove.
- The Stags responded ten minutes later on the counter kick delivered Leica Yasukawa to John Laidlaw as both squads headed to half all knotted up.
- Colegrove finished the game deciding strike after the ball pinged around the box and riffled off his foot from 18 yards. The Pirates were 29 minutes away from the victory.
- Southwestern continued to surge for the third goal with eight shots to close out the half, but ultimately did not need the insurance goal to stave off the Stags.
