GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - The Southwestern Baseball team was back at Rockwell Family Field in Georgetown, Texas as they hosted Centenary College on Friday, April 4th and Saturday, April 5th. The Pirates were 8-9 in SCAC conference play before the three game series. After close comebacks in game one and game three, the Pirates ultimately lost the battle to the Gents falling in all three games. The final scores from Georgetown in game one was 4-5, game two was 6-9, and game three was 7-8.
GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTSÂ

Christian Melillo and Jordan Coronado each led the Pirates with one RBI each. C. Melillo's coming from one swing via a homerun.

Pitcher Chase McGarr got through the first eight innings, only giving up two earned runs, five walks while also striking out two Gents.

James Vaquero led the Pirates in hits with three, a double, triple, and a single.
GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTSÂ

The Pirates out hit the Gents, three Pirate hitters recorded two hits a piece (James Vaquero, Tres Organ and Jordan Coronado).

Southwestern's pitching staff recorded eleven strikeouts with Silas Jones leading the way with seven punchouts.

Tres Organ recorded a hit on two of his three at-bats and scored a run both times he reached base safely.
GAME 3 HIGHLIGHTSÂ Â

 Center Fielder Jordan Coronado, hit a three-run Home Run in the bottom of the ninth to bring the Pirates within one run of the Gents.

Stephen Rutherford threw one hundred and twenty seven pitches which is a new season and career high for Rutherford.

Jordan Coronado led the Pirates offense with three hits and four runs batted in.
