GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - The Southwestern Baseball team traveled to Seguin, TX to take on the Texas Lutheran Bulldogs in a three game SCAC series. Pirates drop game one with a final score of 6-9, game two was a close game finishing 4-5 in the Bulldogs favor, and the final game of the series ended in seven innings with a final of 6-16 also in favor of the Bulldogs. Upon losing the series, the Pirates are now 8-9 in SCAC conference play.Â

GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTSÂ

James Vaquero led the Pirates with two RBIs coming from one swing via homerun.

Freshman Chase McGarr got through the first six innings, only giving up five earned runs, six walks while also striking out five Bulldogs.

Ben Feuer got on base four out of five plate appearances including three hits and a walk while also knocking in one RBI.
GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTSÂ

Silas Jones gave the Pirates an outstanding starting performance, pitching seven innings, only giving up two runs and recording seven strikeouts. Seven innings pitched is the most in Jones's career at Southwestern.

Wyatt Kuhlow gave Southwestern the lead in the top of the eighth inning with a two run homerun. Kuhlow led the Pirates with two RBIs.

The Pirates were opportunistic on the base paths with both Logan Wilson and Tres Organ both stealing two bases respectively.
GAME 3 HIGHLIGHTSÂ Â

Designated hitter, Owen Stevenson gave the Pirates a lead in the top of the fourth inning with a three run homerun. Stevenson also recorded a sac fly to tie the game in the sixth inning.

Christian Melillo reached base successfully three out of four plate appearances. His stat line included two walks and an RBI single.

The Southwestern bullpen recorded seven combined strikeouts to Texas Lutheran's five.

Catcher James Vaquero found himself on the base, consistently recording three walks for the first time this season and reaching base three out of four plate appearances.
