Men's Tennis Moves to 5-0 In Conference Play

GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - The Southwestern University Men's tennis team was back at Henderson Courts to face University of St. Thomas on Friday, March 28th in a conference match. The Pirates came out on top going 6-1 on the day against the Celts. Following that win the Pirates are now 5-0 in conference play on top of the SCAC Standings.

 

MATCH HIGHLIGHTS

  • Junior Nathan Qi won his No. 3 singles match (6-0, 6-0) not allowing his Celts competitor to score a single point

  • Jared Burton played No. 6 singles where he won his first set (6-2), fell in the second set (4-6) forcing his match to go into a third set that ended in favor of the Celts player with a score of (12-10)

 

MATCH NOTES

  • The Pirates swept in all doubles matches 

  • Southwestern dropped one singles match within the contest 

 

UP NEXT

  • Southwestern Tennis will be taking on University of Mary Hardin-Baylor on Wednesday, April 2nd in Georgetown, Texas with the match starting at 5:00pm.
