GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - The Southwestern University Men's Golf competed in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship Tournament over the course of three days, April 13th-15th. The three day tournament consisted of 18-holes each day totaling 54 holes played. The Pirates finished the tournament with a third place finish, where they shot team scores of 326, 311, & 310 for a tournament total of 947.
The Pirates were led by senior Bryce Stiemert who fired rounds of 76, 76, & 75 (+11) where he finished in 4th place. Behind him with a 15th place finish was freshman William Suell who shot rounds of 84, 74, & 77 (+19). Next in 21st place was sophomore Sam McClure who finished with rounds of 81, 79, & 78 (+22) after him was senior Matthew Peesker who shot 85, 84, & 80 (+33) putting him in 36th place. Finishing in 38th place and rounding out the Pirates was freshman Tyler Rosson with rounds of 86, 82, & 87 (+39).
Southwestern men collected a total of one hundred and forty pars, while also collecting twenty eight birdies. The Pirates finished in third within the field in par 3's playing them at 3.40 (+24) for the tournament, they were also third in par 4's where they played them at 4.55 (+82).Â
