Women's Lacrosse Celebrates Seniors At Last Home Game

GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - The Southwestern Women's Lacrosse team played their last home games of the season over the course of three days last weekend. On Friday the Pirates took on nationally ranked Colorado College Tigers the final score was 23-1 (Colorado). Saturday the contest was against University of Wisconsin - River Falls that final score was 17-3 (UWRF). Sunday morning the Pirates went up against University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point where that score was 13-7 in favor of Stevens Point. The Pirates dropped all three conference games and are now 0-3 in conference play. 

 

GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS

  • Cecilia Cantu scored the lone goal for the Pirates in the third quarter 

  • Goalkeeper Hannah Colvin tallied five saves while only allowing seven goals in her game appearance

  • Colorado controlled the draw controls during the contest 21-4

GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS

  • Sydney Martin was lead scorer for the contest, scoring two goals. Grace Van Dinter also scored a goal for the Pirates

  • Four different Pirates collected three ground balls each for the contest

GAME 3 HIGHLIGHTS

  • Cecilia Cantu tallied a team high of four goals throughout the game while also collecting one ground ball and winning eight draw controls

  • Goalkeeper Emma Bethke picked up a total of seven ground balls 

  • Hope Culberson led the Pirates in caused turnover with a career high of four

UP NEXT

  • The Pirates are traveling to Wisconsin to compete in three more conference games within three days starting on Friday, April 11th at 1:00 PM.
