GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - The Southwestern University Softball team played a three game conference series over the weekend against Centenary College. The Pirates fought hard but ultimately lost the battle in all three games in Shreveport. The final scores were as follows: game one 0-6, game two 1-5, and game three 6-7. The Pirates are currently 10-5 in conference play with five conference series left in the season. 

GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS

• Pirates Tauryn Alexander and Sophia Ytuarte led the team with two hits each of their three plate appearances

• The Pirates pitchers kept the Ladies scoreless for five innings

GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS

• Daniella Clark collected the lone RBI for the Pirates in the third inning that scored Emery Bell

• As a team the Pirates forced Ladies pitchers to commit five walks

• The Pirates had had two hits for the contest, those being from Kaydence Garza and Meghan McCarthy

GAME 3 HIGHLIGHTS

• The Pirates took advantage of the Ladies mistakes early on scoring five runs after two innings

• Freshman Emery Bell led the Pirates in hits for the contest with two, while also collecting an RBI, and scoring twice herself

• Erica Otto added another stolen base to her career stats totaling in eight for the season

• Southwestern Softball will host Trinity University on Taylor-Sanders Field this weekend March 29th-30th for a three series conference match-up.
