GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - The Southwestern Baseball team traveled to Longview, Texas to take on the LeTourneau University Yellowjackets for a spring break non-conference series. The Pirates started the series out strong with a 9-4 win in game one, but unfortunately couldn't keep it going into game two with a final score of 6-7 or game three with a score of 1-7. The Pirates overall record moves to 10-13 following the spring break losses.

GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS 

• The Pirates bats were hot in the contest, scoring four runs in the first inning, one in the second inning, three in the fifth inning to put the Pirates up 8-2

• Christian Melillo and Tres Organ lead the Pirates with two hits each

• Designated hitters Owen Stevenson hit a 3 run homerun in the fifth inning and Connor Duffey hit a solo homerun in the top of the ninth inning

GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS 

• James Vaquero led the Pirates with three hits out of his five plate appearances, collecting one RBI and scoring twice

• Three different Pirates were hit by pitches during the contest

• The Pirates had a combined twelve hits for the game while picking up two errors

GAME 3 HIGHLIGHTS  

• Tres Organ hit the lone RBI of the game in the ninth inning to score James Vaquero

• First baseman Wyatt Kuhlow had two at bats and walked both times

GAME NOTES

• Tanner Teffs and James Vaquero each added a stolen base to their career stats

• Freshman Chase McGarr picked up another win, moving his pitching record to 4-0
