Women's Basketball Honors Seniors At Last Home Game Of The Season

GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - The Southwestern Women's Basketball team played their last home game of the season against Trinity University. The Pirates had the privilege of honoring two seniors for Senior Day, those being Ellie Ward and Taylor Boddie. Both of these ladies played an exceptional role on and off the court for the Pirates. The contest final from Georgetown was 68-74, Trinity took home the win. 

 

GAME HIGHLIGHTS: 

  • Pirates were led by Adrianna McCoy with twenty-one points, five steals, five assists, all while also picking up four rebounds

  • Sophomore Trinity Benitez collected her seventh double-double of the season with fifteen points and eleven rebounds

  • Senior Ellie Ward racked up eleven points, four steals, and five rebounds on the night

 

GAME NOTES:

  • Pirates Lauren Stevens (8) & Alexa Romero (10) also helped offensively with eight and nine points of their own

  • The Pirates went 24-60 from the field, 8/16 from three, and were 57% from the free throw line

 

UP NEXT:

  • The Southwestern Pirates will travel down to Kerrville, Texas to take on Schreiner University on February 14th.
