SEGUIN, TEXAS - Southwestern University Men's Basketball struggled to stop Texas Lutheran University in the second half, leading to a wire-to-wire road loss, 84-77. The Pirates fall to 2-2 overall in a strong offensive performance against the Bulldogs.

Zach Shugars had a breakout performance proving why he is a team captain, dominating on both ends. The junior finished with 27 points on five rebounds, going nine for ten from the line.

- Shugars took over, scoring eight straight points for the Pirates helping lead to a four-point lead, 24-20.

- The Bulldogs scored the last six points to cut their deficit to one at halftime, 38-37.
- Freshman Neo Franco was active defensively as the Pirates jumped out to a 54-47 lead. Franco finished with five steals.
- Freshman Kalen Williamson stepped into the game as the forward stepped out and knocked down a three.
- As the game progressed, senior Shobby Enakpene got aggressive with the mid range. The senior converted difficult pull up jumpers making it 63-58 as he finished with 17 points.
- The Pirates committed a crucial turnover that led to the Bulldogs tying up the game at 65-65.
- Freshman Sawyer Batz made a fall away triple as the Pirates led 71-69.
- Southwestern struggled to execute down the stretch as the Bulldogs finished the game on a 13-4 run.
