DANVILLE, KENTUCKY - Southwestern Women's Soccer made the first move with a 65th minute goal, before Centre College equalized in the 79th minute to end Saturday's SAA match in a draw, 1-1. The Pirates fall to 4-6-4 overall and 0-2-2 in SAA play with three conference matches left.
MATCH HIGHLIGHTS
- The Pirates and Colonels met for the 13th time on Saturday and the first in SAA play. Southwestern's last victory came in 2005.
- Centre hit the crossbar in the 21st minute for the first big chance. Junior Jackie Powell was everywhere on Saturday with the first Pirates shot on goal in the 24th minute.
- The match went into halftime scoreless after two Pirates team saves in a close call.
- Southwestern struck in the 65th minute of the second half.
- Freshman Addyson Luna drove down the flank squaring a ball to a running Powell. The junior forward took two dribbles and fired a goal across her body from a difficult angle.
- The goal marked her seventh of the season and 14th of her career.
- In the 79th minute, Centre drew a penalty kick. Freshman EJ Searfoss saved the attempt, but the shot unfortunately deflected to Centre who cleaned up the goal to equalize.
- Centre finished with 28 (nine on goal) shots in the match, opposed to the Pirates six (three on goal).

Southwestern travels to Howard Payne University on Tuesday for the non-conference finale at 6 p.m. The Pirates return home to take on Millsaps College on Friday, then celebrate senior day on Sunday against Rhodes College.
