GEORGETOWN, TEXAS -Â The Southwestern Volleyball team came out strong in a four-set battle against Centre College, earning a 3-1 victory with set scores of 23-25, 25-22, 27-25, and 25-15, moving their conference record to 7-1. It was a memorable night for the Pirates as five different players hit career milestones, showcasing the team's depth and continued growth throughout the season.
"Today was one of those true team wins and a deep gut check on staying focused during big points in an elite college volleyball match," said Head Coach Don Flora. "This match took us some time to calibrate our blocking and defense behind the block, but our staff was impressed with how the team worked together and continued to battle under pressure."

Tatum Ahrens led the charge offensively, tallying 17 kills, 13 digs, and one service ace, demonstrating her all-around impact on the court.

Freshman Taylor Johnson also made her presence felt, posting 23 assists, four service aces, and five digs in an impressive performance.Â

At the net, senior Lily McWhorter was dominant defensively, collecting five block assists and one solo block, helping the Pirates control the tempo at the net.

Kendall Jurgens turned in a highly efficient outing, leading the team with a .588 hitting percentage after recording 11 kills on 17 attempts.

The Pirates closed out the match in dominant fashion, hitting .414 as a team in the final set with only two errors on 29 attempts, while also outblocking Centre 10–4 over the course of the match.
