GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - The Southwestern University Women's Swim team traveled to San Antonio, Texas on Saturday for their dual meet against conference opponent Trinity University. The Pirates won three events outright and gathered 74 points against the Tigers, while Trinity tallied 207, ultimately defending their home pool against Southwestern.
HIGHLIGHTS (First Place Finishes)
- 100 Backstroke - Ellie Samples took first place in the event by 2.21 seconds posting a time of 1:01.81 in the field of six competitors.
- 100 Fly - Niva Maskey concluded the 100 Fly in just over a minute (1:00.13) beating out Trinity by 1.56 seconds.
NOTABLE FINISHES
- 50 Freestyle - Maskey took second overall in the field of seven competitors, posting a time of 25.69 book ended by two Trinity swimmers in first and third.
- 500 Freestyle - Mallory DeArmond grabbed a second place finish in the distance race at 5:31.62, followed by her teammate Elizabeth Krajca in third place just over five seconds behind (5:36.84).
- 200 Freestyle Relay - The Pirate team of Maskey, Samples, DeArmond and Krajca ended the meet by putting together a second place effort in the relay at a time of 1:43.78.

- Southwestern will host its final meet of the season on Janaury 25th at 11:00 AM against the University of Texas - Permian Basin at the Walzel Natatorium.
