GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - In their second road game of the weekend on Sunday, Southwestern Women's Basketball lost a close one to the University of the Ozarks Eagles. After battling it for four quarters, the Pirates and the Eagles went into overtime tied 67-67. Up 72-71 with 1:17 remaining, Ozarks went on a four point run to end the game, bringing the final score to 75-72 in favor of the Eagles.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Adrianna McCoy posted a career-high and game-high thirty-three points against Ozarks, going 13/24 from the field and 5/10 from beyond the arc.
- The Pirates also relied heavily on Trinity Benitez, who recorded her third double double of the season off fifteen points and ten rebounds. Benitez was also a game-high 7/7 from the free throw line.
- Ellie Ward capped off the weekend with her second straight game in double digit points with ten on the day while also bringing in five rebounds.
NOTES
- As a team the Pirates shot 12/14 from the free throw line (85.7%) and were 45% from the field for the game.
- The Eagles drew twenty-two fouls from the Pirates leading to a 22-16 foul margin for the contest.
- Leads changed hands thirteen times throughout the course of the game with the score holding a tie ten times in it's duration.
