GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - Southwestern Volleyball wrapped up the SU Invitational on Saturday with a double header against the Whitman College Blues and the Illinois Tech Scarlet Hawks. The Pirates made quick work of both the Blues and the Scarlet Hawks, finishing the teams off three sets to none in both contests to advance to 7-0. The Pirates swept the invite, going 4-0 at home for the week and were named Co-Champions in the tournament along with Texas Lutheran (3-0). HIGHLIGHTS VS. BLUES
- Emily Marks hit at a .429 clip for the match with eleven kills on twenty one attempts.
- Freshman Kate Spinelli led both teams in digs for the match with thirteen.Â
- Lauren McIntyre racked up four service aces against the Blues.Â
NOTES
- The Pirates limited the Blues to just seventeen kills for the match and a.056 hitting percentage.
- Southwestern had nine aces, coming from five different Pirates.
HIGHLIGHTS VS. SCARLET HAWKS
- Carly Berkman gathered eleven kills on the match, leading both team in the category.
- Lily McWhorter hit 46.2 percent against the Scarlet Hawks adding up to seven kills on thirteen attempts.
- Claire Romo put up four service aces against Illinois Tech along with fifteen assists.
NOTES
- The Pirates hit a season high .327 with just six errors against the Hawks.Â
- Southwestern again had nine service aces from four players.
