GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - Southwestern University men's basketball team competed in the Trinity Classic down in San Antonio, Texas on Friday and Saturday of last week. The Pirates took on Wisconsin Lutheran Warriors as well as Illinois College BlueBoys. The Pirates went 0-2 on the weekend, falling to the Warriors 60-73 on Friday and to the BlueBoys 52-58 on Saturday. 

GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS

• Senior Brock Luechtefeld and freshman Jared Robins led the Pirates with thirteen points each

• Luke Hatcher led the team in rebounds with a total of six, while also picking up four assists

• Pirates went 22-49 from the field, 6/16 from three, and 50% from the free throw line

GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS

• Freshman Jared Robins led the team with fourteen points on the day while also collecting seven rebounds

• Brock Luechtefeld picked up a team high of eleven rebounds

• Pirates went 19-52 from the field, 4/15 from three, and 47% from the free throw line

• The Southwestern Pirates will be traveling to Seguin, Texas to take on Texas Lutheran for the first SCAC conference game of the year on Thursday, January 2nd at 7:30 PM.
