GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - The Southwestern University Men's Basketball team competed in their last out-of-conference game in the Robertson Center on Monday night, going up against the #14 ranked Whitworth University Pirates according to D3hoops.com. Southwestern trailed by just one point, 32-31, headed into halftime. But a barrage of three pointers from Whitworth in the second half led to 55 points from the opposing Pirate team, and the final tally to be 87-64 in favor of the opponents.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Brock Luechtefeld scored nineteen points against Whitworth, adding in eight rebounds in 28 minutes on the floor.
- Aedan Lewis went for nine points, three rebounds and two steals, the second leading scorer for Southwestern.
- Luke Hatcher in his return to the court Southwestern, scored six points along with two steals and two rebounds.
NOTES
- Whitworth went 14/27 (52%) from beyond the three point line, going 59% in the second half alone.
- Southwestern and Whitworth were dead even on rebounds for the game, each team collecting a total of 31.
- Southwestern scored seventeen points from the free throw line, hitting 74% of their free throw attempts.
