GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - Southwestern Volleyball met the East Texas Baptist University Tigers in a one off non conference match between top 25 teams on Saturday. The Tigers sit at #11 in the country and held a record of 22-1 going into the contest. The Pirates, dropped the first set 25-14 but rebounded in the second set, winning 25-21. Unable to maintain that second set momentum, ETBU won the next two sets by nine points each, 25-16, 25-16.Â
HIGHLIGHTS
- Madison Ingram tied for the team high with nine kills and hit .292 for the game with only two hitting errors.Â
- Lily McWhorter also had nine kills for the Pirates will stacking up seven block assists against ETBU. She hit .250 for the game.
- Jaidan Adams was second on the team in block assists with three, also putting together three kills for 4.5 points.
NOTES
- ETBU hit over 36% in the three of the four sets played, while the Pirates hit 11.5% for the game.
- The Pirates and ETBU each blocked each other ten times throughout the match.
- The Tigers out dug the Pirates 72-52 and allowed five aces over the four sets.
