Pirates Secure Another Conference Win

GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - Southwestern University Men's Soccer held a home match against their close rivals the Concordia University Tornados on Friday, November 1st. The Pirates secured another conference win, advancing them to 5-2-3 in conference, and are currently tied for 3rd in the 2024 SCAC Men's Soccer Standings. 

GAME HIGHLIGHTS

  • Junior captain Raghav Sharma scored the first goal of the game in the 5th minute

  • Sophomore Cooper Pero put the Pirates up 2-0 with a header that found the back of the net in the 15th minute - game winner!

  • Junior Greyson Pinto secured the Pirate win in the 85th minute of the game with his goal

GAME NOTES

  • Dani Sartorio & Michael Grimm each had two assists on the night, Sartorio (15th & 85th minutes) Grimm (5th & 15th minute) 

  • Senior Elliot Miller picked up another assist for the season, serving one in for Pinto's goal (85th minute) 

  • Four yellow cards were given throughout the game, two of those belonging to Pirates - Amar Singh & Cooper Pero 

UP NEXT

  • The Pirates are back home on Varsity Field in Georgetown, Texas on Sunday, November 3rd at 12:00 PM to take on the McMurry University Warhawks for their final home game of the season.
