Men's Soccer Secures Conference Bid With Two Last Minute Goals

GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - Men's Soccer hosted their last home match of the 2024 season at Varsity Field in Georgetown, Texas on Sunday November 3rd against McMurry University. The Pirates and Warhawks was a thriller game to watch, as the Pirates scored two late goals in the second half to win 2-1! 
 

GAME HIGHLIGHTS

  • Sophomore Lukas Nowlin scored his first goal of the season - header which tied the game in the 84th minute

  • Junior captain Raghav Sharma found the back of the net for the game winner in the 86th minute 

  • Michael Grimm (86th minute) & Greyson Pinto (84th minute) each picked up another assist 

GAME NOTES

  • Total of five yellow cards were handed out - Cooper Pero was lone Pirate with a card

  • Pirates tested McMurry's goalkeeper forcing him to make 10 saves on the day

  • Southwestern had a total of 16 corner kicks - 11 of those were in the second half

  • The Pirates are heading to the SCAC Tournament for the 4th consecutive year as the 3rd seed. Where they will take on Trinity University on Friday, November 8th at 8:00 PM at Sabercats Stadium down in Houston, Texas.
