GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - Brian Armijo, a senior from Albuquerque, New Mexico was named the recipient of the 2024 SCAC Men's Cross Country Elite 19 award. The SCAC Elite 19 is awarded annually to the student-athlete who has at least a cumulative 3.25 GPA, at least 60 credit hours at his or her current institution and earns All-SCAC honors for that particular season.Â
Armijo, who is a Biochemistry & Mathematics major, currently holds a 4.000 GPA and finished 10th at this year's SCAC Cross Country Championship meet - the second time in his career he has earned All-SCAC honors after finishing ninth at the 2022 championships.Â
The first ever Southwestern cross country runner to earn SCAC Elite 19 honors, Armijo's selection marks the 26th time a Southwestern student-athlete has earned the league's highest honor!
