GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - The Southwestern University Men's Cross Country team concluded their season at the NCAA West Region Meet on Saturday. The Pirates finished seventeenth out of twenty four teams that participated at the event in Portland, Oregon. Of the six total SCAC teams competing at the event, Southwestern clipped three of them, beating out St. Thomas, Concordia and Texas Lutheran.
In the field of 174 runners, the Pirates complete the race with three out of their seven entered in the top 100. Southwestern's best finisher was
Brian Armijo who ran a 26:04.2 in the 8K race. Following eighteen seconds behind Armijo was
Emilio Salas, who put in a time of 26:22.8 and was #88 in the field. Rounding out the top 100 was Xavier Wines (97th) running the course in 26:31.6 and behind him at #115 was
Cade Rosenquist who clocked 26:58.6. In the final three spots of Southwestern's entries were
Leonardo Redding,
Kevin Love and
Cooper Stoughton with times of 27:49.4, 28:53.5 and 29:24 respectively.
