GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - Southwestern Women's Basketball started off their 2024-2025 season against Lewis and Clark College on Saturday night in the Robertson Center. Southwestern carried a ten point lead over the Pioneers going into halftime and with each team scoring twelve points in the third, the Pirates maintained that ten point lead going into the fourth. The Pioneers completely flipped the script, scoring twenty-eight points in the fourth and holding Southwestern to just nine. Lewis and Clark went on to take the game 68-59.

HIGHLIGHTS

• Ellie Ward led the Pirates in points with fifteen on the night, shooting 38% with five rebounds.
• Alexa Romero was second highest on the team in points, shooting 4/8 with one three pointer. She also tallied four rebounds, one steal and one assist.
• Trinity Benitez had a team high seven rebounds with one steal, she also tacked on five points and went 3/4 on free throws

NOTES

• The Pioneers shots 77% from the free throw line compared to 50% from the Pirates. Lewis and Clark made a total of twenty free throws throughout the game.
• Southwestern out shot the Pioneers from beyond the arc, the Pirates made 7/26 threes while the Pioneers were 4/20.
• The Pirates won the turnover battle, only turning the ball over twelve times to the Pioneers sixteen turnovers.
