Southwestern Football Ends Conference Schedule Against Trinity University

GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - Southwestern University Football ended their Southern Athletic Association conference schedule against the Trinity University Tigers on Saturday. The Pirates will play one final non-conference match up against old rival Texas Lutheran University to finish out the season next Saturday. Southwestern was held scoreless through three quarters of play in San Antonio while Trinity manufactured points in all four quarters. The Pirates scored one touchdown in the fourth, bringing the final tally to 34-7 in favor of the Tigers.

OFFENSIVE HIGHLIGHTS
  • Senior quarterback Peyton Inderlied threw a sixteen yard touchdown pass with 44 seconds left on the clock in the fourth. Inderlied also rushed eight times for thirty one yards.
  • Devan Phillips had a game high sixty-five yards rushing on fifteen attempts, averaging 4.3 yards per carry. 
  • Garrett Inderlied caught his brother Peyton's sixteen yard pass for the touchdown on his only reception of the contest. 
DEFENSIVE HIGHLIGHTS
  • Jameer Martin collected twelve total tackles, six solo and six assisted, including two tackles for loss for fifteen yards with one sack. 
  • Southwestern put up six tackles for loss against the Tigers, coming from Martin, Caleb Harmon, J.P. Reyes, Dylan Jackson and Liam Phelan
  • In addition to Reyes TFL, he also intercepted one pass (returned for eleven yards) and went for five total tackles. 
NOTES
  • Charlie Fournier pinned the Tigers inside the twenty on three of his punts. He went for a long of fifty four yards on the day, averaging 44.3 yards per punt. 
  • The Pirate defense held the Tigers to just 92 yards on the ground while Southwestern posted 167 yards rushing. The Southwestern defense ranks first in the conference in rushing yards allowed with just 695 for the season. 
  • The Pirates also ranked first in the conference in total rushing yards, putting up 1636 yards against opponents, averaging 4.2 yards per carry and nineteen touchdowns.

  • Southwestern Football will end its season on the road in Seguin, Texas at Bulldog Stadium. The Pirates will battle Texas Lutheran at 1:00 PM on November 16th.
