GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - Southwestern University Volleyball took on Schreiner University for the second time this season on Thursday Night. The Pirates last contest was against the Mountaineers, taking a 3-0 victory, however the second victory would come much tougher in Kerrville, Texas. The Mountaineers took the Pirates to five sets, including a 31-29 victory for Schreiner in the fourth. But the Pirates bounced back well after the marathon set, eventually winning the game 15-8 in the fifth.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Geneva Nedrow went for twenty-nine digs against Schreiner, her highest of the season so far.
- Lily McWhorter totaled fourteen points with four block assists, one block solo, and ten kills.Â
- Kate Spinelli put up a game high seventeen kills for 18.5 points and also collected sixteen digs.
NOTES
- Christina Kuras and Emily Marks also notched double digit kills against their opponent with twelve and fifteen respectively.Â
- Each team was solid at the net in the contest, both tallying ten blocks.Â
- Southwestern hit .182 on 214 total attempts versus the Mountaineers .158 on 190 total attempts. Â
