GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - Southwestern Volleyball advanced to 4-0 in conference play on the road against Concordia University (TX) this weekend. The Pirates exchanged the first and second sets with the Tornados at Concordia Fieldhouse, but the Pirates were able to rally in the third and fourth sets, taking 25-23 and 26-24 victories. Southwestern is currently at the top of the gold division in the SCAC standings, with Texas Lutheran in second. Austin College is ranked first in the blue division standings, followed by Colorado College.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Annika Flora had a match high thirty two assists among all setters while also digging twelve balls on the defensive end.
- Emily Marks went for a career and match high twenty kills against the Tornados, hitting .283 on forty six attempts.
- Geneva Nedrow served up three aces against Concordia. The libero also marked up seven assists and eighteen digs in the stat column.
NOTES
- Nine different Pirates notched kills in the match, hitting a team total .199.
- Concordia blocked eight Pirate hitting attempts and matched the Pirates in aces for the match (6).
- The Southwestern offense averaged forty four hitting attempts per set compared to the Tornados 37.3.
