Box Score GEORGETOWN, Texas – Southwestern's defense was tested all night as Concordia defeated the Pirates 5-0 in non-conference play Sunday.
The game was tight at halftime as SU trailed 1-0, but the Tornados quickly extended the lead with four goals in 20 minutes. Southwestern's offense was held to just five shots on the evening. The Pirates' best looks came in the final five minutes of play as Jamie Vargas' shot was saved over the crossbar and Chickie Murphy had one careen off the crossbar.
Southwestern (0-2) hits the road for the first time this season to open SCAC action against Texas Lutheran on Friday, September 8th at 7 pm.
