Byrne joins the Pirates staff as an assistant ahead of the 2026-27 campaign after previously coaching at Regis College for two years in Massachusetts. Before Regis, Byrne spent a season coaching at New England College, bringing in three years of experience into the program along with an accomplished playing career.Â
Last season, Byrne led the Pride to a 14-12 overall record where he helped coach an All-GNAC Center who became the eighth 1,000 point scorer in program history. In 2023-24, Byrne coached the program's all-time leading scorer with 1,607 points. His role included recruiting, player development, and program operations.Â
Bryne also brings an ample amount of playing perspective, excelling at Salem State University and Suffolk University. At Salem, Byrne was a two-time All-MASCAC selection, graduating in 2023.Â
