2015
Young started at first base in all 39 games this season and posted a .267 batting average. In 120 at bats she had 32 hits while driving in 24 runs and scoring 25 times. Young was third on the team in runs scored and RBIs while landing fifth in hits and led the team in triples with four. Young also excelled in the classroom and earned a spot on the SCAC Spring Academic Honor Roll and was an NFCA All-America Scholar Athlete.
2014
Young played in seven games, starting 34 times for the Pirates. She posted a .318 batting average with 35 hits in 110 at bats with three doubles, one triple and one homerun. Young drove in 11 runs and scored 17 times and was a Second Team All-SCAC selection at first base and member of the SCAC Academic Honor Roll and NFCA Academic All-America.
2013
Young saw action in 28 games and started 13 times in her first season with the Pirates. She recorded 17 hits in 54 at bats for a .315 batting average. Young posted five doubles and three homeruns while driving in 17 runs and scoring 11 times. She went 3-3 with two RBIs and two runs scored on February 19th against Concordia and had three, three RBI games this season. Young was a member of the SCAC Academic Honor Roll and was named the SCAC Player-of-the-Week the second week of the season. She was on the dean's list at Southwestern both semesters.
High School
Young was a three sport athlete for the Trojans earning letters in volleyball (2), basketball (3), and softball (4). She was the team captain for softball and named Most Valuable Player in 2010-2012. Young also served as team captain for the basketball team her junior and senior years. She was an All-SPC selection in 2012 and All-North Zone in 2010 and 2011. Young is a member of the National Honor Society and earned the Trojan Award in 2012.
Personal
Caroline is the daughter of George and Kathy Young and has one sibling, Robert. She is majoring in anthropology with a minor in feminist studies at Southwestern and is a SIRA Supervisor and Academic Development Chair for Delta Delta Delta.
