Biography

2015

Led the Pirates in numerous categories…in 107 sets recorded 393 kills while averaging 3.67 per set, both team highs, with a .285 attack percentage…was second on the team with 471 digs, averaging 4.40 per set…added 22 blocks, 9 aces and 18 assists…posted a season high 22 kills twice, both against Trinity…had 27 digs against Claremont-Mudd-Scripps on October 16th…earned SCAC Player of the Week honors three times (two offensive, one defensive)…named AVCA National Player of the Week during week six of the season…First Team All-SCAC, AVCA First Team All-Region, AVCA First Team All-America.

2014

Foster was a powerhouse for the Pirates all around the court. She led SU in kills per set (2.68) and kills (351) with a .196 attack percentage. Foster was also the team leader in digs with 630 on the season, averaging 4.81 per set. She added 29 assists, 25 aces and 46 blocks this season. For her efforts, Foster was named SCAC Offensive Player of the Week during week five of the season and was a First-Team All-SCAC selection. Foster was also a member of the SCAC All-Tournament Team as an outside hitter and earned a spot on the Fall SCAC Academic Honor Roll. 

2013

Foster had a big sophomore season, culminating in AVCA Honorable Mention All-Region and Second Team All-SCAC selections. Foster led the Pirates in kills with 376, 3.16 per set with a .206 attack percentage. She was also fourth in blocks with 38 and second in digs with 564, 4.74 per set. She appeared in 119 sets for the Pirates and posted her best offensive outing against Springfield College on October 18th with 25 kills. Foster had a season high 36 digs against Trinity University on November 16th in the NCAA Regionals which also set a new SU record. Foster also earned a spot on the SCAC All-Tournament Team, SCAC Academic Honor Roll and Dean's List.  

2012

Foster was outstanding in her first season en route to Second Team All-SCAC honors. She finished third for the Pirates with 262 kills and was second with 449 digs. The rookie tallied 10 double-doubles on the year including a season-high 16 kills and 16 digs in a 3-0 win over Concordia. She also set a school record for digs in a five-set match with 34 against Trinity helping Southwestern to a 3-2 victory. Foster added 16 service aces and 40 blocks helping the Pirates return to the NCAA tournament for a ninth straight season.

High School 

Foster was a three-sport athlete for the Hornets, earning letters in volleyball, soccer and golf. She was the Outstanding Offensive Player for District 28-5A, team MVP and a First Team All-District selection on the volleyball team as a junior and senior. She earned Academic All-District distinctions in all three sports and was also an Academic All-State selection in volleyball. 

Personal

Kaitlyn is the daughter of John and Karen Foster and has two siblings, Megan and Justin. She is majoring in kinesiology  with a minor in psychology at Southwestern and is the Secretary for FCA, Younglife leader, a member of Zeta Tau Alpha, and Academic Peer Mentor.
