GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - Southwestern University Women's Soccer turned in another incredible performance on Sunday afternoon in a victory over Austin College at home, 4-1. The Pirates continue to impress, stacking together three straight wins to improve to 3-0-2. Southwestern is off to their best start since 2021.
Sunday also included a Senior Day celebration early this year for
Angela Escobar,
Mia Morales,
Jackie Powell,
Ainsley VanTreeck, and
Erin York. All five athletes have given countless memories and contributions to this program as all five were in the starting lineup. It was a special day as all five contributed to the match heavily in front of friends, family, and numerous former players.
Southwestern has come ready to attack in the win streak as they found the back of the net in the tenth minute. Powell found

The Pirates were on fire as they scored again only a few seconds later as Escobar intercepted a pass, drove past her defender, and buried a goal from 16 yards out. The entire squad and crowd erupted in an all-time special program moment for a senior who has given her heart and soul as a previous team manager. Moroever, Southwestern led 3-0 in only 12 minutes played before the Kangeroos scored in the 33rd minute to make it 3-1 at halftime.
In the second half, Southwestern extended their lead to 4-1 on an own goal off the Kangeroos. 24 different players played in the victory as they start the season with five straight positive results heading into a road stretch.
