Box Score SEGUIN, TEXAS - Southwestern University Baseball traveled to Texas Lutheran University on Tuesday night, falling in seven innings to the #20 ranked team in the nation, 12-1. Southwestern falls in the first leg of the non-conference battle with the Bulldogs, taking on TLU again next Tuesday at home.
Freshman
Fletcher Wilson received the start for the Pirates. Wilson tossed a scoreless first before surrendering six earned runs with majority coming with two outs. After three innings, TLU held an 8-0 lead showing why they are ranked.
Senior
Connor Duffey singles home the Pirates lone RBI of the night before the run-rule took affect after seven innings. The Pirates received two strong relief appearances to close the night. Junior
Lawrenece Lara tossed one inning with one earned run as he continues to contribute strong innings with two runs surrendered on five innings this season.
Freshman
Weston McWhorter had an incredible collegiate debut after returning from injury, tossing a scoreless sixth. The freshman walked his first two batters before bouncing back with three straight strikeouts after he found his footing as the fastball and curveball were landing.
